Publishing material on the site

Document Actions
The publishing process: How material in your folder can be displayed publically on the site rather than remaining in a "visible" (but generally unseen state). If you want to make some of your material invisible (private) you can find out how to do that here too.

If you want something from your folder to be published on the site then you need to submit it for review.  You can do this by opening the item and clicking on the word "state" at the far end of the green bar at the top. This will open a drop down menu with a number of options.  You should choose the "submit" option.

[Note: the "private" option makes the item invisible to anyone but you whereas the  "visible" option makes it visible to anyone who knows where to look. "Visible" is the default setting]

Once you've clicked on "submit" you will notice that the word "pending"  now appears next to the word "state":

It will shortly be read by a reviewer who will decide whether or not to accept it for publication on the site.  You will know if it has been published because its state will have changed from "pending" to "published":

"Advanced" publishing

You can also submit an item for publishing my clicking on the "advanced' option in the state drop-down menu:

(Part of) the advanced publishing form:

After you have submitted an item you can go and check the advanced publishing form to see any comments by the reviewer. [If the item has been rejected that will be recorded along with the reason for the rejection.]

Well that's the  basics of publishing.  You can always email us if you have any problems or questions.
