Contributing material to lastsuperpower
Joining LastSuperpower enables you to contribute material to
the site in a number of ways. The most
obvious and simple way is by writing for our forum. However we want LS to be
much more than a forum. As the site
develops we envisage active member participation in building the site via
increasing our collection of resource material. It is possible for members to contribute interesting newsitems , longer articles, photos, cartoons, files and so on. This can be material from the web and also original material written by members themselves. Below you will find links to end-user documentaion which describe how to do this in some detail
The site is set-up in such a way that upon joining, every member is automatically provided with workspace on the site. This is done by providing each member with a folder for storing material on the site. It’s possible for members to use their folders to build their own homepage and even to develop an entire personal website within the site.
More importantly, it is through their folders that members can submit material for publication on the site.
What do we mean by
“publication”?
Published material is displayed more prominently on the site than it would be if it remained in a member folder. When an item is published it is removed from the member’s folder and displayed in a more easily accessed part of the site (ie a section of the site where casual visitors just browsing LastSuperpower are more likely to see it.) There are different levels of prominence ranging from the front page (Welcome page) to various locations within our top level folder system. (more explanation about this below).
The publication process involves placing an article in your folder and then “submitting” it for publication. At this point it will be reviewed by a member of the LS team. If approved it will be moved from your folder and placed in a different location on the site. At the same time it may become the subject of a new topic on our forum.
How is this done?
If you click here you will find a set of instructions which tells you how to use your folder in order to submit material to the site and/or make use of your folder to build a personal website introducing yourself and storing material that you think is important or interesting.
(not all the material related to the practicalities of putting material in folders has been completed. I will keep working on thats seperately). However the link will take you to the beginning of it. I still need to write the documentation for different types of content , describe the submission process and make more screen shots)
