Just for  a bit of fun: Chomsky and Zinn discussing what is really happening in Lord of the Rings (a satire).....

Chomsky: We should examine carefully what's being established here in the prologue. For one, the point is clearly made that the "master ring," the so-called "one ring to rule them all," is actually a rather elaborate justification for preemptive war on Mordor.

That WAS fun! (though a bit long)

From the same site Thomas Friedman on the issues of the day was quite clever too.
