According to greatfirewallofchina.org this site is banned in China.

Their About page says:

We’ve opened a website in China and route your url request on greatfirewallofchina.org through to our server in China. The server in China opens the url and the result is send back. Our testing is only based on one server on one location in China. We have different backup servers in different locations in China might one go down.
Other locations and other servers may give you different access to the various websites.

Interesting. Presumably the neocounter "visitors" list often showing several from china reflects the censors also recording contents of pages looked up by Chinese attempting access by requesting the page themselves even though not actually passing it on.

Perhaps also explains occasional visitors from unlikely locations that might be providing anonymous proxy services.

NB Chinese authorities have been known to wage serious denial of service attacks on sites they consider especially annoying - eg www.marxists.org/

That site went down at one point with explanations that DoS attacks had been traced to China. Cannot find reference to it on current site. (Their report may not be conclusive as DoS attacks are made remotely via armies of remote controlled bots from PCs that have been taken over and could be deliberately made from China (or elsewhere) to confuse issues.

If we ever do have an audience there are numerous competent people who would want to bring us down and it would be important to be prepared for that.

BTW this also reminds me that I'd like a copy of the current DVD set from that site and one should be obtained to pass around copies generally. Despite the trot bias it is an invaluable reference.

PS Sorry I'm still not posting. Level certainly seems to be improving so am reading with interest despite sense of futility without an audience.

I  know that at least one person in China is able to visit us -  although access is  spotty and pages can take  a very  long time to load.   If that situation has changed in the past several weeks , I haven't heard.

Interesting - not more than 3 days ago there were I think 9 visitors from China listed in the Visitors Online graphic.

I don't think that this test can be conclusive. If it is,  the Chinese must be seriously paranoid!

I tested (via www.greatfirewallofchina.org):

www.telstra.com Couldn't connect

www.abc.net.au  OK

www.soccernet.com Blocked!

www.cellnet.com.au Blocked!

The last is just a technical site in connection with mobile phones that I use for work, and I can't see why the Chinese would want to block a soccer web site.

It would not surprise me in the least if the fascist Chinese Government had banned the Last Superpower Website. The heirs of Deng want to intellectually and idealogically disarm the proletariat in all spheres, but particularly when it comes to revolutionary marxist ideaology.
